imm cologne 2017
Multi-faceted living environments at imm cologne 2017 – carefully staged by creative director Kati Meyer-Brühl.

brühl presented six new designs

Kati Meyer-Brühl‘s embrace sofas and armchairs turned out to be a highlight of the imm cologne trade fair. The coat rack re, the armchair grace bungee and the chairs les copains bungee look as good on their own as they do combined with other pieces. The alva occasional tables offer numerous utilisation options; and Roland Meyer-Brühl‘s concert range of sofas and longchairs is particularly flexible.

Kati‘s expressive latest design embrace – with sofas, armchairs, benches and stools – features convenient conversion mechanisms, literally at the push of a button. The design immediately elicited an extremely enthusiastic response. Her alva occasional tables, which can be used in many different ways due to their height and dimensions, added decorative accents.

The coat rack re is made of silky smooth and finely grained plywood. Its powerful, natural shape turns it into a functional object that can also simply enhance a room as a sculptural accent piece.

grace bungee complements the range of grace armchairs with a version with handwoven black, blue or red bungee cord detailing at the armrests. The armrest tops are wrapped in bungee cords – thus also functioning as armrest pads. Additionally, the frame is decorated with several horizontally stretched cords.

The woven parts of the les copains bungee string chairs are woven using actual bungee cords in black, blue or red. They are pleasingly elastic and comfortable to sit in, but not too yielding. As the cord is covered in a textile material, the woven parts also feel warm.

The concert sofas and longchairs feature flexibly reclinable backrests. Optional head- and armrests can be added to the pieces later, if required.

brühl‘s designs have been awarded numerous national and international design prizes and are known and sought after in Germany, Europe, and beyond.
