iF Awards 2016
Kati Meyer-Brühl wins two design prizes
The furniture ranges attitude und grace, both developed in 2015, were honoured with the iF Design Award 2016. The grace range has previously been awarded three other design prizes.
The grace armchairs and two-seaters combine a minimalist form with a graceful and elegant appearance. The comfortable seat is optionally completely covered in fabric or leather or it shows an elementary plywood construction with visible wooden details. The filigree frames are black powder coated, galvanised or finished in chrome or stainless steel. A wide range of cover options – from leather to striking patterns to natural wool felt – allows for individual customising.
The attitude sofa, Kati Meyer-Brühl’s most recent creation, looks particularly innovative and is characterised by luxuriously soft seating comfort, swivel armchairs that turn the seats into longchairs and hidden armrest mounts for attaching pads to. Details like the
armrests’ rounded contours or the back cushions with their button
tacking or cross stitching provide a design conscious accent and add unique charm.
attitudeand grace are fitted with removable covers. In addition, they are made from particularly sustainable and long-lived materials. Thanks to their adaptability, they are also ideal form combination with other pieces of furniture.
Established in 1954 and bestowed by the International Forum Design, the iF Award is regarded as one of the most prestigious design prizes. The winners of this year’s awards were selected by an international jury consisting of 58 design experts.
