Sustainability in detail

Ecology and sustainability are at the core of our company. In 1994, we were one of the first furniture manufacturers in Germany to focus on the protection of our environment and the conservation of our natural resources, and in 2009, we were the first furniture manufacturer in Germany to be awarded the “Blue Angel” eco-label. Thanks to our reduced energy consumption and emissions as well as compensation measures, we have also been a certified “carbon neutral manufacturer” since 2017.

COMFORTABLE SEATING THAT LASTS FOR GENERATIONS

Our multifunctional, versatile furniture is made from premium-quality materials. It is so robust and durable that it can still be enjoyed by the next generation.

TIMELESS DESIGN

We don’t believe in short-lived trends. The timeless beauty of brühl’s furniture ensures that the inimitable design of our pieces never looks outdated.

SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION

All brühl furniture is manufactured in our factory in Bad Steben, Germany, using a process that is completely sustainable, and as energy-saving and resource-conserving as possible.

ECO-FRIENDLY MATERIALS

Solid wood from regional certified, sustainably managed forests, eco-friendly fabrics, leather that has been tanned using purely plant-based agents or upholstery materials that are free from harmful substances are just some of examples for our sustainable approach when it comes to the materials we use.

REMOVABLE COVERS

Removable covers can at the very least double the lifespan of a high-quality piece of seating furniture. Almost all brühl seating furniture designs feature removable covers. Often, the covers are also either machine washable or can be dry-cleaned.

By reducing the transport distances of our raw materials, we are also lowering the carbon footprint of each piece of brühl furniture.

Sustainable materials and raw materials means: Fabrics that meet the criteria of the Oeko-Tex standard or the Global Recycled Standard for recyclable fabrics. Including upholstery fabrics that are made of 100 % recycled PET. Timber sourced from certified, sustainably managed forests (FSC/PEFC) and, if possible, grown locally. Leather sourced from carefully selected tanneries in Europe.
